Man is coming home a downer.  Not only is it 25 degrees hotter here than in Paris, but I have to go back to work!  SAD PANDA.

Next year we're already planning to go to the Virgin Islands.  And since I get 3 weeks next year, I'm pondering Spain as well :D

Updates are unlikely until my return because the wireless at the apt; won't connect...but I am alive!  Also: French keyboards are confusing!

Because I insist on being absurdly early to the airport, I am currently sitting in the tiny Corpus Christi airport, utilizing their fantabulous free internet for the next hour+.

And then I've got a couple hours in Houston, and then...on to Paris!  Hurrah!

There will, of course, be lots of photo updates and whatnot...  So ready for this vacation :

I am...unreasonably jealous of these people.

I mean...how much gumption does it take to just sell everything you own and take off for another continent?  Especially with kids.  Jesus, I can't imagine getting rid of my computer, let alone half of the other crap currently cluttering up my tiny apartment.

Random: I find myself inexplicably fascinated by the election and aftermath in Iran.  I can't read enough about it.  I really want the Iranian people to be able to go up against Khameni and Ahmadinejad and win.  Because (and certainly I'm reading from a Western perspective) it seems like most Iranians expected Mousavi to win; instead Ahmadinejad ( Read more... )

I keep having these startling realizations that I leave for Paris in...like, 3 weeks.  AS IN: LESS THAN A MONTH.
